The Washington State Party’s charter and bylaws require that all county and legislative district party organizations elect new officers every two years, shortly after each even-year election, a process called “reorganization”. Counties and LDs are responsible for planning and running their reorganization meetings in accordance with the State Party’s charter and bylaws.
Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs), who were either elected or unopposed during the August 7, 2018 Primary, will be eligible to elect the 24th LD officers: the Chair, Vice-Chair, State Committeeman and State Committeewoman. While members are encouraged to attend and/or run for an elected position, the only members eligible to vote for these positions will be the newly elected Precinct Committee Officers who will take office on December 1. PCOs will vote by secret ballot for each of these positions. No proxy voting is allowed at a reorganization meeting.
