In February 2019, area residents will be asked to vote on a measure to annex the City of Port Townsend into Jefferson County Fire Protection District #1 (EJFR). If approved, this measure will merge the geographic area of Port Townsend and it’s residents into the service area of District #1.
The ballot measure will be presented to both city residents and residents of the unincorported area of District #1. In order for the measure to pass, both constituencies must approve it by 50% plus one.
