The Jefferson County Democrats are replacing our annual Fish Feast with an on-line event called the "A Lot on the Line" Campaign. Alas, we cannot meet in person, but we still have our speakers and this event will be provided at no charge.
This year’s virtual event will be held on Sunday, August 23, at 4 pm. We will be using Zoom and YouTube as our platform to broadcast our speakers. The event will be a free opportunity for voters to hear our great local and state guest speakers, and we will also have guest speakers to discuss racial issues. Its theme: “Catch ‘Em Online, No Strings Attached.” Access details for the Zoom/YouTube event will be posted on the party website: jeffcodemocrats.com.
Also invited are incumbents Gov. Jay Inslee, Attorney General Bob Ferguson, and Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz.
The three incumbent 24th District legislators seeking reelection also have been invited: Representatives Mike Chapman and Steve Tharinger and Senator Kevin Van de Wege. Congressional Representative Derek Kilmer, State Party Chair Tina Podlodowski and County Commissioner candidates Heidi Eisenhour and Lorna Smith will address the virtual meeting.
Our event is free, but we are still encouraging attendees to contribute if they can. We use donations to help elect local candidates and candidates in Washington State. Our suggested donation levels are: Minnow, $25; Salmonid, $50; Halibut, $100; Orca, $250; or Whale, $500. To contribute, choose the giving level (or write in whatever amount you wish) on the online form at https://jeffcodemocrats.com/events/2020-election-contributions/. People can also join the party or renew their membership on that website.
MUSSEL ORDERS ARE NOW CLOSED. Pick them up on Friday, August 21 between 4:30 and 6 PM at the Haines Park and Ride (next to Safeway in Port Townsend).
The Jefferson County Democrats will meet on Zoom on Thursday, September 10, at 6 PM. Meeting access details will be provided closer to that date.
