Jefferson County Elections
On this day, our fond hopes are to elect a Democrat as president of the United States, elect majorities in both houses of Congress, and to elect Democrats to state executive and legislative offices.
The presidential primary is coming up, and it is crucial to encourage voters to vote. While many people vote reliably in every election, many people don’t.
If we can get these low-propensity voters to vote in the primary election, they are up to 90% more likely to vote in the general election. One of the best ways to do that is by contacting voters after the ballots are sent, reminding them to mail in their ballot.
While door-knocking is the most effective method,
phone calling is the second most effective.
Are you interested in making phone-calls to low-propensity Democratic-leaning voters?
I’ll supply you with a call list and a short script. Contact me at:

The ballots are mailed Friday, Feb. 21. You can begin making calls starting Saturday. If you can help make calls, let me know, and I’ll email you a call list on Feb. 22.
The ballots are due March 10. I’ll create new call lists of voters who haven’t yet turned in their ballots around March 4.
If you have questions, call or send me an email. Thank you!

FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE DEMOCRATS: Last year, we resisted. Now it's time to go on the offensive. It's time to Rise & Organize for a bluer Washington State and a bluer nation.
This year, we have a rare opportunity to make a huge difference on the national level. Some of the most competitive congressional races are right here in Washington State.
We've already hired organizers across the state and built a robust organizing apparatus to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2018. Organizing paid off last November when we won back the state Senate. Now, we need to expand those majorities and take the fight to Congress.
When you become a member of Rise & Organize, your sustaining monthly contribution allows us to invest in vital organizing work. Every monthly dollar raised by Rise & Organize will go directly into field and community organizing in key districts across our state.
With your support, we will continue building our statewide organizing infrastructure and getting Democrats elected!
In addition to the gifts listed below, all members of Rise and Organize will receive exclusive perks, including:
Riser Member Levels
If you have questions about your contribution, want to cancel your membership, or require assistance, please call Joe Barden at 206-583-0664.
Planned Parenthood was founded over 100 years ago on the revolutionary idea that women have the right to access the information and care they need to live strong, healthy lives. Today, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) fights to protect that right — often in the face of extreme politicians trying to take it away.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a nonprofit, non-partisan group. They are backed by more than 13 million activists, donors, and other supporters all working to advance access to sexual health care and defend reproductive rights. While PPAF works at the national level, local Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations are fighting to defend reproductive rights in states across the country.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund has endorsed Derek Kilmer’s reelection in 2020!

Members of Jefferson County Democrats voted unanimously June 20 to endorse a "yes" vote on this initiative.
I-1000 would allow affirmative action without quotas in Washington state when considering a person for education and employment opportunities. The initiative would remedy documented discrimination in this state.
Members of Jefferson County Democrats voted unanimously June 20 to endorse voting “No” on I-976, which would cut funding for road and transit projects.
On the November 5th ballot, Tim Eyman’s Initiative 976 would devastate our already strained transportation system by cutting funding for road and transit projects from Spokane to Seattle, Bremerton to Zillah and all points in between.

The bill would move Washington's presidential primary to March 10, 2020, just one month after New Hampshire's first in the nation primary. Previously, Washington's presidential primary has been held on the fourth Tuesday in May.
